We’re currently looking for up to 8 aspiring artists aged 14 – 25 who would like to join the project team for CITYLIGHTS ~ 街の灯 – an art in the public realm project connecting two city sites, The Rocks, Sydney and Yokohama, Japan. If you’re interested in dance, movement, performance, sound, projection and/or interactive installation we want you. The first development session is this Saturday, so get in quick or you’ll miss out!
CITYLIGHTS ~ 街の灯 has been commissioned by Shopfront and is being run by Murasaki Penguin (David Kirkpatrick, Australia and Anna Kuroda, Japan) with support from Shopfront’s staff. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body. Project partners in Sydney are The Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, The Japan Foundation Sydney, and Performance Space. Project partners in Japan are ST Spot, Steep Slope Studio, Izayoi Yoshidamachi Studio and Yokohama City’s Mother Port Area grants program.
