Thank you to the people who came to watch our Dove Lake and Aqua Line performances at TiRo Space, Chiayi, Taiwan. We had a wonderful time presenting two works in collaboration with Yu-Feng Lai, a dancer originally from Chiayi City.
台湾の嘉義市にあるTiRo SpaceにてDove LakeとAqua Lineの上演が無事終了しました。ご来場いただいた皆様、ありがとうございました。今回嘉義市でのパフォーマンスが叶ったのは本2作品を共にコラボレーションしたヨウフォンライの出身地という事から実現しました。
The venue TiRo Space is an old traditional building renovated by a collective of architects, designers, and artists from Taiwan. These performances were one of the first times the space has hosted an experimental dance event.
会場となったTiRo Space（諸羅設計塾）は、台湾の建築家、デザイナー、アーティストのコレクティブによって古い伝統的な台湾の建築物をリノベーションした施設でした。今回の公演は、その会場で実験的なダンスイベントを開催されるのは初めてという事でした。
We drew from the essence of this unique alternative space. The sodium lamp used in Aqua Line was once again provided by Taiwanese lighting company KANAUE, and was larger than the previous one we used for the Japan season. David positioned the fixture to complement the architectural style, creating a beam shining down the staircase onto the dark stage.
私たちは、このユニークな建築を生かそうと努めました。Aqua Lineで使用するナトリウムランプは、今回も台湾の照明会社KANAUEによって提供いただきました。また、横浜で上演した時よりも大型の照明でした。デイビットはこの建築様式に合うよう、階段の高さを利用し設置することで、暗い舞台面に光の光線をつくることができました。
We would like to thank Yu-Feng Lai and Island Link Arts for inviting Murasaki Penguin to this special place, supported by the National Culture and Arts Foundation Taiwan (NCAF), and the many people who helped make this event possible. We are thankful that as artists we are sometimes invited to perform in and explore wonderful places like Chiayi, which we likely wouldn’t discover on our own.
この特別な場所にMurasaki Penguinを招待してくださったヨウフォンライとIsland Link Artsに感謝申し上げます。また、台湾国家文化芸術基金会（NCAF）の支援を得て、沢山の方のお力添えによってこのイベントを実現できました。嘉義のような古き良き歴史が残る素敵な場所は、きっと自分たちだけでは決して見つけることができない特別な場所だと思いました。アーティストとして、このような素晴らしい場所で公演や探索をする機会をいただけることに改めて感謝いたします。
