Anna has received an Asian Cultural Council 2025 Individual Fellowship Grant! Many thanks to the people who supported us to make this happen. Anna will travel to New York and other states in the US to research sustainable choreography, technique preservation, community inheritance, and the influence of 1970s–80s interdisciplinary collaborations on the field of contemporary dance, particularly through the work and history of Trisha Brown.
この度、黒田杏菜はアジアン・カルチュラル・カウンシル・グラント2025を受賞しました。実現するために私たちをサポートしてくださった方々に深く感謝いたします。黒田はダンスおよび振付における持続可能性、技術の保存、コミュニティの継承、特にトリシャ・ブラウンの作品と歴史を通して、1970年代から80年代の学際的なコラボレーションが現代のダンスに与えた影響を研究するため、米国（ニューヨーク及び他州）を訪問します。
Anna will focus on the Trisha Brown Dance Company (TBDC) and research the sustainability of dance from the perspective of postmodern dance. She will also attend rehearsals for upcoming TBDC and Merce Cunningham Dance Company projects. Through observing these rehearsals, she aims to learn the two companies’ distinct movement vocabularies and study how the dancers will continue to perform and pass on this received choreography to future generations.
黒田は、トリシャ・ブラウン・ダンス・カンパニー（TBDC）に焦点を当て、ポストモダンダンスの観点からダンスの持続可能性について研究します。また、TBDCとマース・カニンガム・ダンス・カンパニーのプロジェクトのリハーサルに参加します。これらを通して、両カンパニーの異なる動きを学び、ダンサーたちがどのように踊り続け、受け継がれてきた振付を未来の世代に伝えていくのかを研究します。
In April 2024, Murasaki Penguin co-hosted a workshop with TBDC in Yokohama called ‘Dancing Decoy and Lining Up’ with Lisa Kraus. Participants came from all over the country and expressed a desire to continue this quality workshop in the future. Please see our previous blog post. We love to learn from pioneers such as Trisha and Merce, working with ephemerality of dance; how to inherit, perform, exhibit, recreate, and continue dancing as we grow older, and take this legacy home with us to think about the possibilities of dance in the future.
昨年4月に私たちはTBDCと共催し、リサ・クラウスと横浜でワークショップ「ダンシング・デコイとライニング・アップ」を共催しました。全国からトリシャ・ブラウンのダンスを学びに集まった参加者から、今後もこのような質の高いワークショップ等の機会の継続を希求する声が多くありました。ワークショップの様子は過去の投稿をご覧ください。私たちは先駆者であるトリシャやマースが、ダンスの儚さについてどのように向き合い、ダンスを継承、上演、展示、再創作、そして歳を重ねて踊り続けていく事についてを学び、その遺産を持ち、未来におけるダンスの可能性について考えていきたいと思っています。
