Upcoming projects in May…
5月にあるプロジェクトのおしらせです。
Hello, Autumn has come. It is beautiful weather. We would like to write about our upcoming individual projects in May.
First of all we could finally meet and thank Mr. Muto Daisuke who wrote an amazing review for ‘Window’ at Dance In Asia. He came to Sydney and Melbourne to see the Keir Choreographic Award and participate in a panel discussion about ‘Where is choreography now?’ at Carriageworks. Daivd saw the talk and I had a great meeting with Daisuke after. We talked about dance in many different ways. It was such a rich time.
シドニーは秋です。木の葉がオレンジ色にかわり始めて、風と日差しがやわらかいです。5月のおしらせ。
まずはじめに数日前、昨年のダンスインアジアで上演したWindowにコメントを残して下さった武藤大祐さんに初めてArt Gallery of NSWでお会いしご挨拶する事ができました。武藤さんはKEIRコレオグラフィックアワードのためシドニーとメルボルンに来られてKEIR関連イベント「Where is choreography now?」@Carriageworksに出演されていました。Davidはトークを見に行って、私は武藤さんに後で直接お話を伺う事ができ、ダンスについての沢山のお話ができ、楽しく貴重な時間を頂きました。ありがとうございました。
IlluminARTe Wollondilly Festival 2016 is happening on Saturday 7th May in Picton. David is one of the projection designers/mappers along with Khaled Sabsabi and Jerome Pearce. Content is also provided by local artists and students. Building projections, markets, food, etc. Turn up as it starts getting dark. http://www.sydney.com/events/illuminarte-in-wollondilly
Davidは今年もPictonで行われるIllunARTe Wollondilly FestivalにプロジェクションデザイナーとしてKhaled SabsabiとJarome Pearceと一緒に参加しています。映像の内容はPictonの地元のアーティストと学生によって作られています。プロジェクションマッピング、マーケット、フードトラックなど。日没後ライトアップします。http://www.sydney.com/events/illuminarte-in-wollondilly

I was selected as one of the Studio Switch Residency artists at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. I have been working on my new work ‘Kanji’. The studio gallery is open to the public from 30th of April until 3rd of July. You can try Japanese calligraphy with me. I will create an installation and performance based on our conversation and calligraphy.

私はStudio Switch Residency の6人のアーティストのうちの1人に選ばれCasula Powerhouse Arts Centreで昨年から創作している新作「Kanji」を作っています。ギャラリースペースは4月30日～7月3日まで一般に開放されています。スタジオを訪れた人と一緒に漢字を書いて、それについて色んな質問をし、最終的に展示とダンス作品にする予定です。

On 14th of May, there is a concert by Seet Dance at Io Myers Studio, UNSW. I will perform both my short solo based on a song by Walter Huston and in a production by Charemaine. I am having a great time with Charemaine, Michael and her school of fantastic dancers since the end of last year. It is very exciting and challenging creating choreography from the singing voice. Charemaine’s piece has Trisha Brown’s repertoire in it. It is a truly amazing experience to learn sequences from Charemaine. This project is reminding me to feel flow and to free my body with the joy of dance movement.
5月14日にSeet DanceのコンサートがUNSWにあるlo Myers Studioで行われます。私はWalter Hustonの音楽を使った短いソロとCharemaineの作品に出演しリハーサルディレクターを務めます。昨年末からCharemaineとMichaelとダンサー達にとてもお世話になっています。ソロでは、歌の曲から振付をおこすと言う今まであまりなかった事に挑戦するので、どんな風になるのか楽しみです。CharemaineはTrisha Brownのカンパニーとのかかわりが長く、彼女の作品ではTrishaのSet and reset、その他のレパートリーを習って踊っています。リハーサルは本当にいつも楽しくて、彼女のダンスを敬愛する気持ちが全身に伝わって、踊る事の楽しさと動きから生まれる身体の流れを感じて、有難いリハーサルの日々です。
